Christmas for Chocoholics!
February 13th, 2007 by theportlychef
As I’m feeling a little under the weather today, I’m going to take the easy way out and provide a newswrap of the various stories I found today covering Valentine’s Day Chocolate. Besides, I experimented with the chocolate cake in the post below. Chocolate once a week is about all my waistline can handle.
Back tomorrow with…The Portly Chef’s First Restaurant Review!!
Newswrap:
- Warm chocolate cakes with dulce de leche, from the Boston Globe. “Like a little black dress, dark chocolate goes with almost everything.”
- Wolfgang Puck offers his recipe for fudge brownies, via the Chicago Tribune.
- Detroit Free Press provides the recipe for Jake’s Explosive Chocolate Turtle Cheesecake.
- But don’t be fooled into thinking chocolate is just for desserts — the Minneapolis Star Tribune has this article discussing chocolate in other courses of dinner.
- The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has this delicious looking chocolate caramel pecan cake.
- Jimmy G’s in Sharpsburg, PA, has a five course chocolate dinner, paired with wines, for $75 per person, covered in this article from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, which also gives recipes for two chocolate cakes.
- Finally, the Washington Post has a recipe for Bittersweet Chocolate Tart.
Enjoy!
